making a safer San Jacinto - one block at a time

Our strength is amplified with collective action, and you can help make a difference right now. We know there are many concerns about crime, vacant / abandoned, and dilapidated housing in our neighborhood; they are being addressed as the law allows.  Residents can use this website to send us an email about their concerns.  APD has issued a call to action for all citizens of Amarillo to report what they see, and you can do that here.

If you have time or solutions to contribute toward an organized block safety plan we would love to hear them.

Do you have ideas?

Since Officer Amanda Williams and Corporal Fabi Gajardo were assigned to San Jacinto, they have been hard at work getting to know the businesses and residents.  Amanda,  Fabi, and other NPOs work in our neighborhood, addressing Illegal dumping challenges (volunteering time to get it out of the alleyways) and working through the condemnation processes to eliminate abandoned properties that are hot spots for crime and illegal habitation.

You can email them to report concerns or crimes or send them some encouragement!

This is one of the most important ways to help out our neighborhood.  We believe the best way for our initiatives to be successful is for the community to get involved actively.
You can report here any vacant properties that are being vandalized or being illegally inhabited.  Bringing awareness to high crime areas is the first step in making our neighborhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
