NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY

You Can Make a Difference

Our strength is amplified with collective action, and you can help make a difference right now. We know there are many concerns about crime, vacant / abandoned, and dilapidated housing in our neighborhood; they are being addressed as the law allows.  Residents can use this website to send an email about their concerns to the appropriate person.  APD has issued a call to action for all citizens of Amarillo to report what they see, and you can do that here.
If you have time or solutions to contribute towards an organized neighborhood safety plan we would love to hear them.

SAFETY PLAN TEAM

Do you have ideas or experience to help form a safety plan that can assist our NPO ( Neighborhood Police Officer )?

Since Officer Amanda Williams was assigned to San Jacinto several months ago, she is hard at work getting to know the businesses and residents.  Amanda and other APD officers also work in our neighborhood, addressing our Illegal dumping challenges (volunteering time to get it out of the alleyways) and working through the condemnation processes to eliminate abandoned properties that are hot spots for crime and illegal habitation.

You can email her to report concerns, crimes, or you can send her some encouragement!

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH TEAM

This is one of the most important ways to help out our neighborhood.  We believe the best way for our initiatives to be successful is for the community to get involved actively.
You can report here any vacant properties that are being vandalized or being illegally inhabited.  Bringing awareness to high crime areas is the first step in making our neighborhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
If you would like to participate but might  need help navigating or understanding basic technology please contact
